We used a number of different methods to help us understand the experiences of the people who lived at the home, because they had complex needs which meant that not everyone was able to tell us their experiences. On the day of the inspection we 26 people were living at Whitecliff Care Home. We spoke with people who lived at the home and their relatives. We spoke with visitors, care staff, kitchen staff, housekeeping staff and the manager. We left comment cards at the home, for people to complete if they wished, and we received 19 completed cards.

I always feel welcome and I am given a cup of tea and offered cake. He is very happy at Whitecliff, he always seems busy and engrossed in an activity when I am there.... They even take each 'client' out on trips one to one for special trips for them, eg., my husband was taken to a jazz night. Our goal is to provide the highest standards of care while working in accordance with the needs of our clients. From day one my dad has been looked after very well, the staff are very encouraging and caring. Residents are also encouraged to personalise their bedrooms to their heart's content. It is important that their bedrooms are a space that they feel fully settled and comfortable in.
